Conflict minerals

As a rule, we discerningly source materials and components from ethical manufacturers and suppliers who support and respect human rights and acts responsibly and with environmental awareness.

In August 2012, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to require companies to publicly disclose their use of conflict minerals that originate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or an adjoining country, including Gold, Tungsten, Tin and Tantalum.

Like most other companies in the electronics industry, we use components that use some of these materials.

This prompts us to conduct an ongoing process of gathering information from our suppliers to ensure that the minerals used in these components originate from outside the conflict region, or if the origin is within the conflict region, that the smelters or mines have been certified as Conflict-free.

As we do not purchase directly from smelters or mines but from intermediaries, however, DEIF is forced to rely on the source information which we receive from our suppliers.
