Tide Power chooses cost-efficient high-quality DEIF devices

The Chinese genset manufacturer switched to DEIF controllers because of their high quality and cost efficiency - and working with the Danish supplier brings several other benefits.

“We used other controller brands before but decided to adopt DEIF for new product lines because of their cost efficiency and lead times,” says Rex Tan, Managing Director of Chinese genset manufacturer Tide Power. With DEIF, his company is getting the controllers it needs for every product, from gensets to water pumps.

Tide Power is headquartered in Fuzhou in China’s south-eastern Fujian Province. With over 50,000 sq. Meters of factory site and over 300 personnel that locate in China, UK, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, Tide Power production capacity can reach over 10,000 units. Their sales network covers every industry in every corner of the world with offices in Columbia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Vietnam and the service reaches out to over 80 countries and regions.

“Our core business focuses on diesel generators, gas generators, construction machinery, water pumps, light towers, and hybrid solutions,” explains Rex Tan. “Our customers include distributors, agents, and retailers, and our products are used across industries such as mining, biogas, ports, banking, telecom base stations, data centres, and rental services.”

High quality and value for money

Since switching to DEIF controllers, Tide Power has used the SGC 120 Mk II single genset controller, the AGC 150 advanced genset controller, and the ASC 150 flexible ESS controller.

Cost efficiency was a major reason the Chinese genset manufacturer chose DEIF. Rex Tan lists a number of reasons why DEIF is giving his company value for money.

“DEIF offer high-quality materials and craftsmanship,” he says. “Their testing procedures are rigorous, and they offer excellent protective features and electrical safety designs. The system software is reliable and offers strong compatibility and scalability in communication as well as multiple communication interfaces and protocols. And finally, DEIF controllers provide redundancy features for enhanced reliability.”

DEIF support “makes us more cost-effective”

Working with DEIF has also made it easier for Tide Power to run its business efficiently.

“By sourcing all control devices from one supplier, we get a number of advantages,” says Rex Tan. “First, we get simplified operations by reducing the complexity of managing multiple suppliers, contracts, and energy sources. That allows us to focus more on our core business activities. Second, it makes us more cost-effective because we can reduce our procurement workload and lower our expenses in negotiations and contracting.”

Tide Power are getting professional technical support and consulting services from DEIF’s China dealer Dankong Fujian as well as from DEIF China itself. This helps Tide Power develop, build, and market its products; for example, DEIF and Tide Power cooperated closely on using the SGC 120 Mk II controller for Tide Power’s water pump range which is a major focus area for the company. Rex Tan is satisfied with the support he is getting from DEIF.

“The technical support is highly responsive, controller delivery is consistently punctual, and we have adequate training resources,” he says.

Adapting to varying requirements

Tide Power has customers with varying requirements all over the world. To fulfil these requirements, the company needs to deliver products that can easily be adapted to different applications and markets. The DEIF controllers are playing a key role in this. For example, the displays can be shown in several languages, including Chinese, English, French, and Spanish.

Another area where Tide Power needs to comply with varying requirements is emission standards. DEIF genset controllers like the SGC 120 Mk II and AGC 150 are designed for compliance with emissions regulations including Tier 4 (Final) and Stage V requirements.

“The controllers are designed to meet industry standards,” says Rex Tan. “They are certified for multiple regulations, and they offer flexible configuration and PLC programming capabilities.”

“A reasonable advantage”

In short, in the words of Rex Tan, working with DEIF has given Tide Power “a reasonable advantage.” He is confident that the partnership is helping Tide Power reach its business goals. When asked if he would work with DEIF on other projects or products in future, he simply answers:

“It’s feasible!”
